Cold weather is certainly not a woman’s best friend. Gone are the days of hopping out the shower and slathering on a light moisturizer that lasts all day. To combat the frigid temperatures, take the following protective measures to retain healthy hair and skin:
Bedtime
Lips: Lightly exfoliate and rub on a light moisturizer. Drink a glass of water.
Feet: Exfoliate and rub on Vaseline. Sleep in footies/socks to retain moisture.
Skin/Hands: Rub on a light body oil after bathing.
Hair: Cover with a satin bonnet to retain moisture. If you wash your hair daily, use a deep conditioner and light oils to penetrate the scalp and hair follicles.
Daytime:
Lips: Rub on a gloss with moisturizer. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Feet: Rub on a heavy moisturizing lotion.
Skin/Hands: Rub on a heavy moisturizing lotion.
Hair: Wear protective styles like buns to shield your ends from the harsh temperatures.
