In her compelling vision speech, Ayanna Pressley, Massachusetts’ first Black congresswoman, brings attention to the concrete ceiling that has been created for women of color candidates. She then presents the idea of integrating a seismic shift as a means of eliminating this disparity. As I sat in awe of her message, I began to think about the seismic shifts that have taken place in my life this year. There have definitely been too many to count! And while many of these shifts involved a great degree of apprehension, fear, and anxiety these same emotions also served as a catalyst to increase my commitment to my purpose. I now understand that my shifts in life have come from my internal desire to do more and become more.
Because when your life begins to shift, so do you…mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You become immensely resilient and begin to understand that life is an experience of your own creation. This type of value forces you to examine who you are and what you desire for your own life. Shifting is ultimately a major component of the purpose process and requires you to stretch your capacity!
