When people think of stretch marks (particularly women), most would probably cringe. This is because for some it causes distress about the way it makes their skin look. I, for one, have learned to celebrate my striae! This is all due to the power of my shift in perspective. When your skin is stretched further than it’s used to, the collagen and elastin fiber tears due to the rapid growth or stretching. This then creates stretch marks that are sometimes painful and always permanent. Only surgical procedures can eliminate the scarring completely and there is little medical evidence available confirming the effectiveness of current treatments for stretch marks. Based on this information I could only help but to conclude one thing; Stretch marks play a pivotal role in your purpose process. Let me explain.
When you finally decide to upgrade your aspirations, you are going to sometimes feel as if you are being stretched beyond your capacity. But always remember that what doesn’t challenge you, doesn’t change you! These same life experiences are sometimes painful and permanent, but necessary if you want to grow in life. Similar to how stretch marks shrink and expand, you will do the same while on your purpose path. At times, various obstacles you face may cause great strife but the lessons learned and experience gained will serve you for a lifetime. When you set your intentions high, your capacity should never be constant, but always evolving. And while the procedures you endure in your life aren’t surgical, they are definitely purposeful. Never apply topical treatments such as negativity, doubt, or discomfort to your scars. These same experiences are equipping you with the elasticity for excellence.
Staying in your comfort zone is not comfortable. When you are being stretched past your former state of complacency you learn more about yourself and can began to discover your destiny! A wise man once said that a mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.
I CHALLENGE YOU to stay the course during your stretching season.
